Training & Experience:*
I have experience and interest in helping individuals’ age 17+ in learning and identifying strategies to manage and reduce symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety, psychosis, obsessive compulsive disorder, barriers which impact self-esteem, cycle of violence, as well as types of abuse and the long term impact of abuse.
My Approach:
I strongly believe that as human beings, we have the ability to change and transform our lives through choice. Being that there is not one single theory which can capture our experiences as human beings, I utilize an integrated approach which allows me to use some aspects of: Gestalt, Existential, Solution Focused as well as high utilization of Cognitive Behavioral therapy. I have over 3 years’ experience in working with court mandated perpetrators in a group setting and I have worked with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness in community mental health by teaching healthy strategies to manage symptoms. In addition to community mental health, I am including private practice into my line of work. Overall, my main goal as a clinician is to help and guide individuals to change their lives to improve everyday living
About Me:
I was born in Arlington, VA but was raised in Accra, Ghana from the age of 2 until I was 9 years old. I moved and lived in Texas from 1999 until 2016 when I moved to Eugene, OR. I enjoy traveling, learning and discovering as much as possible about different cultures.
