About Me:

I came to the US from Korea when I was six years old and being in a military family, traveled all over until I settled in upstate NY at the age of 14. I received my BA in Psychology at SUNY Fredonia then my MS in Art Therapy at Nazareth College of Rochester. Since then, I’ve been working mostly with children and their families in various settings before I took a long hiatus to
raise my own children.

I am a mother of two highly spirited boys, an avid nature enthusiast, a collector of crystals, a lover of animals and music. I enjoy traveling and meeting new people and experiencing everything this beautiful planet has to offer.

I find meaning in life through my own journey, the people I love, the experiences I have, but also, in the people I help. I have a wealth of life experiences and adversities that have made me the person I am today. Experiencing my own trauma and the continuous journey of reintegrating my own shadow self, has led me to a mission in life to help others find their own
path toward healing.

Treatment Orientation & Philosophy:

I believe in the sacred worth and value of each being and that no individual is above another. Everyone has the potential for ultimate joy and fulfillment in their lives. Therapy is not only for those who are struggling in life but for everyone. Our purpose in life is to be our most authentic selves and through self-exploration we can discover our inner light. The first step in improving
the world is to improve ourselves.

We create our own realities, therefore my aim is to empower individuals to step out of a victim mentality and function beyond the ego. Most of us experience life filtered through a distorted sense of reality, where thoughts and belief patterns are created to cope with past traumas and life experiences. This is a type of programming that we carry throughout our lives, allowing our subconscious to dictate how we experience it. Regrets about the past and worrying about the
future prevent us from truly being present. Skills that ground, center, and focus us in the here and now; the only thing that is real, helps orient us to the things that are not.

I humbly invite you to begin/continue your journey toward healing. I am honored to be your witness and your source of unconditional positive support as I guide you through the therapeutic process. My job is not to show you the way but to walk by your side, as we explore together your unique journey towards authenticity and a life filled with ultimate joy.

“We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.”
