About Me:

Following my service in the Air Force and a formal education at Fresno State University, where I achieved my bachelor and masters degree, my experiences in human services and psychotherapy has expanded over thirty years. I’ve provided treatment in various settings, including residential programs as a group home manager, county mental health and child protective services, and trauma-based interventions. This included the Department of Veterans Affairs, where I’ve worked for nearly twenty years with veterans of the post 9/11 era.

My work and life experiences have led to considerable skills and achievements within mental health and wellness. Also having strong personal values and ethics, I’ve always considered self care and empowerment as essential, growth expanding factors in life.

I’m very connected to the joys of nature and the interests of wilderness hiking, environmental issues, finding the discoveries of the Oregon coastline, and within the private gardening of my home. Reading and occasional NETFLIX showings on history, docudrama and sporting events also fill parts of my evening.

Treatment Philosophy:

Our connections to life giving forces in nature and each other, offer us unlimited opportunities for personal growth. Thriving well and safely through our shared environments of care, are what guides our choices to want the best in ourselves and each person we journey through life alongside.

My work as a psychotherapist has often brought me to realize how talking through and journaling out our conflicts, daily stressors and sufferings, works best when guided by the trust of a therapeutic relationship. My commitment as a professional provider, is to bring you the best of shared knowledge, experience and compassion through ‘here & now’ approaches of individual, conjoint and group interventions.

Counseling is a courageous effort to break down barriers, moving through grief and loss, or finding deeper meanings to our personal life. My achievements in areas of treating those who experience the pain of living with depression and anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and various problems related to personal development, are both extensive and inclusive. The partnership of care, leading to optimal success in your personal goals, are ways I’m familiar in as a therapist. As a valued individual, you are truly welcomed to share in these goals.
